RIVETT (MASON), Marjorie Beatrice

1934 - 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Marjorie Beatrice Rivett (Mason), who went home to be with her Lord on October 2nd, 2025, at the age of 91.

Born in 1934 in Essex, England, Marjorie built her life on faith, family, and hard work. In 1966, she courageously crossed the ocean with six young children in tow, beginning a new chapter in Canada with her husband, John William Rivett, who predeceased her in 2011.  Together they raised a family of thirteen. Her legacy of love grew to include 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply.

Marjorie’s home was always filled with warmth, the smell of fresh baking, the bubbling of homemade preserves, and the laughter of children. She took joy in turning the bounty of their enormous garden into jars of jams and vegetables that she proudly shared with family and friends. A woman of simple joys and unwavering faith, she taught by example: to love generously, work hard, and place God at the center of one’s life.

A devoted Christian, Marjorie was a lifelong member of her church community, where she found strength and fellowship. She believed that her greatest calling was to nurture her family, and she lived that calling with grace, humor, and boundless patience.

She is survived by her beloved children, Stephen (Penny), William (Jocelyn), Timothy (Barbara), Daniel, Rosemary (Sydney), Matthew (Diane), Benjamin (Colleen), Margaret, Cindy, Cathy, Sarah (Mathieu), Elizabeth and Amaris (John), grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her dear brother James Mason, who remains a treasured link to her family roots. They will all carry forward her traditions, kindness, values, and recipes.

Though her earthly journey has ended, the love and faith she nurtured in her family will continue to flourish for generations to come.

A service will be held on Saturday October 25th, 2025 at 2:00pm, in Faith Hall at Grace Village. A reception will follow at 3:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Marjorie's life. The burial of ashes will take place privately for family at the Huntingville Cemetery, at 4:00pm.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, in keeping with Marjorie’s generous spirit.

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13

Some of my best childhood memories is spending time at the Rivett household. It was always full of love and a sense of belonging, kindness and always lots of fun and laughs. Marjorie was the center of this. She always made me feel welcomed and part of the family.

I send my deepest condolences to tge Rivett family and may the days ahead bring you comfort knowing your mother was a wonderful lady who shared all she had with those who knew her.

I have many fond memories of your mom from church. I remember her laugh and smile. I have been reminiscing the last couple of days and remember a conversation your mom had with a group of ladies at church. I would have been a teenager so it was long ago. I don't remember the context that started the conversation but your mom said something about she remembered the excitement of young love and the start of a relationship. But she said something about there was a comfort in settling into a long relationship. She went on to say that sometimes when she heard your father's terror voice singing in church it still made her heart skip a beat. Praying that your faith and memories will sustain you in your time of loss.

So sorry for your loss, my sympathies to the whole family. I can recall her lovely english accent and smile. Her faith was unwavering even at times of sorrow. A great Christian example. Yet happy she is in her glorious place prepared by her Lord!
