Longtime resident of Richmond, Maureen Quinn passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Wales Home on Friday, February 14, 2025. Maureen was born and raised in Richmond, Quebec, the only daughter and third child of Dr A.W. McCabe and Mabel (Galvin) McCabe. Family meant everything to her starting with her parents and brothers (Wally and Dennis), and continuing with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She will always be loved and missed by children Cathi (Pat) Smith, Mike (Joe-Anne D’Avignon) Quinn, Mary (George) Grant and Dennis (Jane) Quinn. Cherished “Nannie” to Michael (Sara) and Pierre (Amy) Quinn, Jessa (Chris) Rasko, Katie (Eghan) Rashidi and Laura (David) Grant, Ben and Emilie Quinn. Proud great-grandmother to Parker and Elliot Rasko and Keyon Rashidi. Maureen was part of the Richmond community for close to 100 years and she often shared fond memories of her youthful days with life-long friends and family. Maureen worked briefly in Montreal before returning to work in the Bank of Montreal in Richmond. Maureen married the love of her life Reynold Quinn in Richmond in 1952 where they settled and welcomed four children. Maureen was a woman of deep faith, resilience, and gentle strength. When Ren passed away in early 1960, Maureen took on the running of the Richmond TV Cable business while raising their children. She was a devoted mother and her children are grateful for her endless love and guidance. Maureen eventually returned to the workforce, retiring from Richmond Regional High School after thirteen years as Green House secretary. Maureen was always involved with church and community and volunteered in several capacities throughout the years. She always chose to look at the good in people, and enriched our lives with her kindness, caring spirit and positive approach to life.
The family would like to thank all her caregivers and the community at the Wales Home for their compassionate support for mom during the past seven years.
